Kings Seeds orders
Members should now order their seeds on-line using the special link that will be made available only to members; this will ensure members get the 50% discount. Kings Seeds will then post completed orders to members' home addresses.
The membership secretary gets details of those using the link so that any non-members using it can be contacted.
The process for ordering on-line or using the paper form is available here and is the same as last year.

Is having an allotment hard work?
Short answer: yes and the more time & effort you put in, the more you'll get out.
To get a good supply of nutritious vegetables:
• the soil should have compost and/or manure incorporated at the right time of the year
• unwanted plants (aka weeds), must be got rid of, especially where you have sown seed
• there is a right time to start crops - miss the window of opportunity and they may not come to anything
• plants need to be protected from pests - carrot fly, onion fly, leek moth, asparagus beetle, flea beetle, cabbage white caterpillars, slugs, snails, pigeons ... the list goes on ... not forgetting rusts, moulds and other diseases
• watering must be done when needed and done correctly - watering tips: click here for info
• the plot must meet the standards of the council (Petersfield Town or Sheet Parish) for upkeep and structures
• harvesting needs to be done at the right time
But remember - no shop bought veg ever tastes as good as veg straight from the allotment and being outside on the allotment is great for the soul!
